Behavioral Health Director - Laurel Fork or Fries, VA

Job Summary

Tri-Area Community Health (https://triareahealth.org/) is a Federally Qualified Health Center headquartered in Laurel Fork, Virginia, with full-service locations currently open in Ferrum, Floyd, Fries, Grayson Highlands (Troutdale), and Laurel Fork, Virginia along with a site in collaboration with Galax City Public Schools. For over 40 years, Tri-Area has provided care to underserved individuals in Southwest Virginia. We offer integrated primary medical and behavioral health care in all these clinic locations. We also have pharmacies that are open in Ferrum and Laurel Fork and a pharmacy in Fries that will open soon. Our three large sites are National Committee for Quality Assurance-certified Patient-Centered Medical Homes and behavioral health professionals at all sites are eligible for National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment (HPSA score of 19).

We are excited to be opening a new site at Carroll County Public Schools.

POSITION: We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Counselor to serve as Tri-Area’s Behavioral Health Director. The Behavioral Health Director is expected to work 4-5 days a week seeing patients, completing administrative duties, and visiting clinics. The preferred home clinic location is Laurel Fork or Fries. The position requires competency in providing interventions to individuals, families, couples, and groups with behavioral health and/or substance use problems in a primary care setting. Patient care is provided in an integrated model, in collaboration with medical professionals. The Behavioral Health Provider must operate in accordance with the terms and conditions of the various contracts and grants providing the funding for Tri-Area’s programs and projects. As Behavioral Health Director, this person supervises other Behavioral Health Providers and is involved in writing and implementing organizational policies and procedures.

Pay will be based on education and experience.

REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited training program in the person’s area of licensure; leadership experience; attitude of respect for all types and levels of behavioral health and medical staff and for diversity; willingness to collaborate and promote teamwork

POSITION:

We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (autonomous preferred) to work 5 days a week (Monday through Friday from 8:00 - 5:00) in our new Carroll County Schools clinic. Our Clinical will open on August 1st, 2024.

This position involves providing direct medical care of elementary, middle, and high school students and School System staff. The work is performed independently with oversight provided by the Medical Director. The candidate must possess the ability to provide acute care for a variety of needs and be competent in performing related tasks such as minor suturing. The Nurse Practitioner must operate in accordance with the terms and conditions of the various contracts and grants providing the funding for Tri-Area’s programs and projects."

Tri-Area Community Health clinical staff may qualify for National Health Service Corp loan repayment through https://nhsc.hrsa.gov/

REQUIREMENTS: Nurse Practitioners must be licensed to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia (autonomous strongly preferred).

Tri-Area Community Health is looking for a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist for our new school-based clinic being developed in collaboration with Galax City Public Schools. The position includes providing in-person counseling with Galax Schools students and staff and technology-based services to other Tri-Area sites and community partners. The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, no weekends. The staff member will provide integrated behavioral healthcare through warm hand-offs, counseling, and be involved in outreach. Preference will be given to those with experience providing integrated care, preferably in a Federally Qualified Health Center and/or Free Clinic. The position will include collaboration with medical and pharmacy staff. Outreach & Enrollment Associate - Ferrum, Stuart, or Floyd, VA

Tri-Area Community Health, a federally qualified health center in Southwest Virginia, with locations in Laurel Fork, Ferrum, Floyd, Stuart, Troutdale and Fries, has an immediate opening for a full-time, Outreach and Enrollment associate to cover the Tri-Area service area, with a focus on Franklin County, Patrick County, Floyd County and a special emphasis on Ferrum College.

Duties include attending events in the various communities that we serve as well as reaching out and developing relationships with individuals and organizations in our service area. A strong knowledge of Tri-Area clinics and pharmacies is required because this person will be sharing that knowledge with people who may not be aware of Tri-Area or the services we provide. Knowledge of college student health care a plus. Duties also include assisting individuals in all our communities with Marketplace insurance and Medicaid eligibility screening and enrollment.

Hours may vary and include some night and weekend work. A work week will typically consist of 40 hours.
