Our Trillium Award Winner and Nominees!
Like the native trillium flower that blooms in the Blue Ridge Mountains and signals the arrival of spring and renewal in our mountain communities, our Trillium Award recipients bring hope, healing, and positive transformation to those they serve.
Each week on Trillium Tuesday we will highlight one of the nominees for this quarter!
Mary Dalton has been with Tri-Area for 5.5 years and is the Clinical Support Coordinator. “There truly are no words to fully describe the highest degrees of work quality, commitment to patients and employees, desire to do the right thing, investment of time and energy, never settling for complacency, etc, etc etc, that are consistently demonstrated by Mary, who also claims zero credit (never!) for her accomplishments.”
Brian Miller is a Clinical Pharmacist at Laurel Fork, Fries and Floyd. He has been with Tri-Area for 5.5 years. “Patients and community hear his name or if you asked them did they check with Brian on a certain medication they are questioning they automatically smile and say I know Brian, he has helped me before. This means everything for the Face of Tri-Area.”
Jacki Webb is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and has been with Tri-Area for 32 years. “Jacki is the best at what she does. She is a wealth of knowledge, and if she doesn’t know the answer, she finds it. She’s dedicated and always there if we need something.”
Teresa Barnard does Medical Records at Laurel Fork and has been with Tri-Area for 15 years. “"Working alongside Teresa has been an absolute privilege. Her ability to break down complex challenges into actionable solutions is remarkable.”
Caitlyn Dalton is an RN and the clinical manager at Laurel Fork. She has been with Tri-Area for 9 months plus 1.5 years previously (2 yrs total). " She’s always encouraging, patient, and uplifting. She cares deeply about her patients and coworkers."
Tiffany Michelle Jackson is a Nurse Practitioner at Laurel Fork and has been with Tri-Area for 1 year. "She diagnosed me with Alpha Gal after major GI issues."
Amanda McAdams works in Housekeeping at Laurel Fork. She has been with Tri-Area for 3 years. " She is awesome, she is willing to listen when your morning starts out rocky and keeps so much positivity and enthusiasm in the work she does.”
Mindy Hamm is a Radiologic Technologist at Laurel Fork and has been with Tri-Area for 13 years. “She shows everyone (coworkers and patients) with the upmost kindness. She works hard and you can tell she loves what she does.”
Cynthia Johnson is the switchboard operator at Laurel Fork. She has been with Tri-Area for 5.5 years. “Cynthia goes above and beyond for the organization and community she’s in.”
Ally Lewis is a Behavioral Health Educator at the Grayson County School-Based site. She has been with Tri-Area for seven months. “Ally goes out of her way every day to make sure students are seen, heard and cared about. She's truly a Rockstar!”
Katelyn Pell is a CMA at the Cana Clinic and has been with Tri-Area for 1.5 years. “She has great customer service and is very caring.”
Bethany Brintle is an LPC at the Laurel Fork Clinic. She has been with Tri-Area for 1.5 years. “Bethany has been able to offer a strong supportive foundation to the behavioral health team enabling us to provide the best care for patients. It's also a space to navigate less than ideal situations with grace and tact that are to benefit to both.”
Carla Horton is an RN and Diabetes Educator at the Laurel Fork Clinic. She has been with Tri-Area for 40 years. “Carla is the true example of extraordinary patient care and compassion. Always going above and beyond in all she does for her job, patients, and friends.”
Paige Billman is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at the Grayson Highlands Clinic. She has been with Tri-Are for 4 years. “In the most rural part of Southwest Virginia, where everyone knows each other to some degree, Paige consistently maintains a full schedule likely because she offers such outstanding care within the community. The word of mouth travels far and wide and people know to come see her if some one could benefit from assistance.”
Kayla Thompson is an RN at Grayson Highlands, and she has been with Tri-Area for 9 months. “She stepped into Lisa’s job and that wasn’t easy but Kayla has went above and beyond.”
Karen Dickerson is the Clinical Site Manager for the Fries and Grayson Highlands locations. She has been with Tri-Area for 2.5 years. “I appreciate Karens work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond what is simply her "job description". She consistently provides compassionate care to her patients while striving to make a positive impact in her community and her co workers.”
Teresa Clifton is a receptionist at the Floyd clinic. She has been with Tri-Area for 1 year. "She was in CVS, a patient was there after hours to get their meds. She had to come to the clinic and got it fixed for them."
Daisy Edwards is a Nurse Practitioner at the Floyd location and has been with Tri-Area for 5.5 years. " I visited Daisy for the first time last year and brought several concerns to her attention. She took her time to listen to my concerns, evaluate me, and come up with a treatment plan for me. To my surprise, she followed up with me later that evening to check on me and make sure that I did not have any concerns."
Janessa Schoolfield is a Nurse Practitioner at the Floyd clinic, and she has been with Tri-Area for 2.5 years. " Well prepared before coming into the appointment. Feels very personable."
Brittany Greer is the receptionist at the Ferrum clinic, and she has been with Tri-Area for 1 year. “Brittany always goes over and beyond to help the patients and she is so nice to all of her co workers.”
Kathy Wood is a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Ferrum location and has been with Tri-Area for 2 years. “She is the best primary care physician that we have ever had. I recommend her to any friends or coworkers who are seeking care locally.”
Suzanne Wyatt is in the housekeeping department at the Ferrum clinic and has been with Tri-Area for 6 months. “She greets everyone with genuine warmth every single day and consistently goes above and beyond her job role, which is both refreshing and encouraging to those around her. The quality of service she delivers through housekeeping is truly five-star and deserves far more recognition than it receives.”
Brittany Butler is a Physician’s Assistant at the Ferrum Clinic, and has been with Tri-Area for 7 years. “She has been exceptionally caring as I’ve been going through a very difficult time. I would highly recommend her to anyone.”
Takesha Moore is the Pharmacist in Charge at the Ferrum Pharmacy. She has been with Tri-Area for 5.5 years. “She consistently exemplifies exceptional patient care in her role as a community pharmacist.”
Beth Vaughan is a social worker/case manager and has been with Tri-Area for 1 year. “She has no problem volunteering to help anyone whether it is with words of encouragement, recognizing people for their accomplishments, or assisting with services with the company or outside resources.”
Jenell Joines is the Family Nurse Practitioner at the Galax School-Based Clinic. She has been with Tri-Area for 2.5 years. “Rearranged her time and took on doing a whole lot of sports physicals to help us out.”
Tiffany Bedwell is an Insurance Specialist located at our Fries office. She has been with Tri-Area for 4 years. “Tiffany B jumped right in to do the prior auths for our Dietitian and was willing to learn all the different ways to do it. She is doing a great job!
Annette Garrett is a Pharmacy Technician at the Fries Pharmacy. She has been with Tri-Area for 3 years. “She is always very helpful if I have a question about a medication & explains things very well. She’s always very friendly!”
We are excited to announce Donna Gibson, FNP-C as the winner of the June 2026 Trillium Award. Donna is a Family Nurse Practitioner at our Laurel Fork and Carroll County High School clinics. She has been with Tri-Area Community Health for 11 years. Donna was announced as the recipient on June 19th, 2026 during the Employee Appreciation Day held at Floyd Family Campground.
